Travel Journal: Lake Atitlán and Antigua, Guatemala
The second part of the solo travel Guatemala guide.
We are back with the second part of the solo travel Guatemala guide. In the first post, I gave a brief history of the country, some tremendous Guatemalan culture recs (books, films, music, etc.) that can transport you there quicker than a flight, and how I spent a day in the capital, Guatemala City. You can catch up with the first post here.
This post will cover the next part of my solo trip to the country, which included a day visiting towns and villages around beautiful Lake Atitlán to learn from Indigenous makers and a few days of soaking in Antigua's history and architecture.
(The third and final post will focus on visiting a coffee farm, taking part in the steps of producing coffee, and an overnight hike climbing a volcano - one of the most incredible experiences of my life.)
